Colinette Yarns Red Panda raw materials

Colinette yarns is famous for their unique hand dyed yarn techniques. Both Colinette and her late partner Geoff developed ways of working with primary colours to produce ridiculously vibrant shades. Geoff a Prix de Rome painter used his knowledge of pigments and colour theory and application to fashion a dye style that helped launch Colinette yarns as the go to yarn for textile artists. With such knowledge it seemed only fitting to apply the colours to the best fibres available. Over the years Colinette yarns has worked with Merino wools, mohair, silks, bamboo, alpaca and more.

The mysterious dye techniques used also ensured that the yarns remained super soft with and exceptional feel in the hand. Most importantly it is the ability to keep the colours fresh and exuberant that differentiate our yarns from others. The current yarns including mohair, red panda (a DK wool and bamboo blend), the super chunky point five yarn and the robust Aran weight woolen yarn Hullabaloo.

To this day we dye in small pasta pots and recycle as much water as possible. So we invite you to take look at our stunning yarns and colours and hope the your next knitting, crochet or weaving project will include a little bit of Colinette Magic.
